Principle Functions
:

  • The Western Region field Technical Services Manager will be based from a home office and is responsible for this respective geographical region.  The ideal locations would be Sacramento, San Francisco/San Jose, Los Angeles or San Diego.
  • Provide technical support as directed by the VP of Technical and Consultant Services.
  • Provide product application and technical training of DACs (Derbigum Authorized Contractors), and Derbigum sales representatives.
  • Perform Guaranty Final Inspections, 18 month Guaranty Audit inspections and Leak investigations.
  • Provide monthly report on Up-Coming, In-Progress, Problem and Potential Problem jobs. 
  • Attend project pre-bid meetings when possible, project start-ups and interim job visits, job-site “Hands-On” training.
  • Provide sales support to major owners and specifies; individually and jointly with Regional sales Manager
  • Perform box lunches Presentations/Seminars for architects, working with and in coordination with the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Problem/complaint resolution for all Derbigum products within the assigned sales region.

Scope of Job:

  • The Regional Field Technical Services Manager shall possess a complete and in-depth knowledge of all roofing processes, all local codes and compliance requirements of Derbigum's products and systems.
  • Must have a complete knowledge of Derbigum products, systems and application.
  • The Regional Field Technical Services Manager must accomplish principal accountabilities through indirect people management and human resources skills.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School acceptable; RRO, college preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience related to commercial construction, commercial roofing application is required
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs; Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Previous service experience as commercial roofing field tech, roof auditor/register roof observer preferred.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assist and work with Regional Sales Managers in developing and implementing training for DACs, Derbigum sales representatives and independent roof consultants/auditors proper Derbigum/Permastic applications.
  • Resolve all problem/complaint issues and determine through technical evaluation, Derbigum’s liability that includes negotiating an equitable payout when necessary.
  • Manage and coordinate outside consultants and independent auditors under contractual agreement with Derbigum as needed for back up on guaranty job audits and 18-month job audits.
  • Maintain current knowledge on products, systems and technologies and evaluate Derbigum's need to develop new products/systems to meet market needs.

Position Objective:

Nelson Forensics is seeking a qualified, confident, personable and communicative Roofing Specialist to its team of experts. The qualified candidate will assist in conducting forensic investigations in accordance with the scientific method, utilizing detailed field investigation techniques to determine the cause and origin of collapses, failures, damages, and defects to roofs.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist a licensed professional in conducting field investigations;
  • Assist a licensed professional in preparation of scopes for remediation and/or design documents for repair of existing roofs;
  • Prepare clear, concise, cohesive, accurate, and defensible reports;
  • Conduct basic laboratory testing on roof membrane samples including but not limited to, working with liquid nitrogen and dry ice, photographing/cataloging specimens, and entering results accurately;
  • Follow safety procedures in accordance of Company guidelines.

 

Positions Requirements:

  • Strong analytical skills and the desire and ability to tackle complex problems;
  • The ability to conduct independent research of codes, standards and other technical references;
  • The ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, to audiences with varying technical proficiency;
  • Desire and ability to multi-task;
  • Prompt responsiveness to inquiries from peers and clients, sometimes outside of normal working hours;
  • Flexibility with respect to work schedule and travel.  Travel is a requirement of the position, occasionally with little advance notice.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Associate degree preferred;
  • Lab testing experience preferred;
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required;
  • Desire to learn and grow;
  • Knowledge of roofing materials including built-up roofing membranes, polymer-modified bitumen membranes, single-ply thermoplastic membranes, and single-ply thermoset membranes is a plus.

Walker Restoration Consultants, a national restoration engineering consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Envelope Consultant with excellent communication skills for the Houston, TX office. As a Building Envelope Consultant at Walker Restoration you will serve as the primary client contact on restoration projects for a variety of structure types including building envelopes, parking structures, water-retention structures, plazas, and tunnels.
