In a T. Clear Protected Membrane Roof System (PMR), ), extruded polystyrene insulation is placed above the waterproof membrane to protect it from the main causes of roof failure - ultraviolet rays, thermal cycling, wind and physical abuse. It uses the same components as a conventional roof system, but in a more efficient and effective way. It's not rocket science. It just works.

A T. Clear PMR can be installed using any type of ballast, including Lightguard®, Heavyguard®, or Coolguard® PMR Insulation panels, over any type of waterproof membrane on any type of roof deck. Each 2' x 4' tongue-and-grooved panel is comprised of 2" or 3" Dow Styrofoam® bonded to a layer of latex-modified concrete and is loose-laid over the membrane providing superior insulation value (R-5 per inch) and functional, attractive protection in one easy step.

T. Clear PMR Insulation panels are recyclable, free of CFCs, and can be reused in any reroof situation or verticle expansion. And Coolguard panels have an initial reflectance of 84, aged reflectance of 65, and a typical emittance value of 0.94 per ASTM-E408 which exceeds the LEED minimum of 0.90.

With a longer life span, reduced maintenance costs, and the predictable, long-term energy savings of Dow Styrofoam, a T. Clear PMR will pay for itself. And they have for over 30 years.
